More Fun, More Good Times: No Pilates Obsession Required

Jun 12, 2024

You don’t have to be obsessed with Pilates to enjoy its benefits. It can be a valuable part of your fitness routine, supporting you in doing more of the things you love. It’s not a lifestyle, a religion, or a fashion line. You don’t have to do it every day; in fact, I recommend mixing up your exercise routine with a variety of activities.

More Fun, More Good Times

Personally, my exercise routine helps me enjoy both dynamic and sedentary activities. Sometimes it’s specific – like when I recently went to an Argentine tango class after a 9-year break and did some Pilates beforehand to prepare, or after sitting and working at the computer for a while. Whether you enjoy playing card games with friends, reading, going for longs walks, hiking, or pickleball, Pilates can support your ability to enjoy these activities and stay open to new possibilities.

At the End of the Day, It’s Just Exercise

Remember, Pilates is an exercise system. It’s a tool to help you live your life. It doesn’t have to be a passion or a lifestyle; it just needs to support your goals and make you feel good.

Remaining Open to Fun Possibilities

And in the spirit of fun possibilities, here is a photo from a previous trip to Yosemite. I found myself doing activities I don’t usually do, such as hiking, camping, and striking a dance pose.

I’d love to hear from you: What activities you do for fun?

To good times and new possibilities!
